RecoBuddy – User Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the RecoBuddy mobile application, website, and related services (the “Platform”).

By accessing or using the RecoBuddy Platform, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

1. About RecoBuddy

RecoBuddy Ltd (“RecoBuddy”, “we”, “our”, “us”) operates a digital marketplace platform that connects users seeking vehicle recovery or transport services with independent third-party drivers or operators (“Drivers”).

​

RecoBuddy does not provide vehicle recovery or transport services and is not a transport provider.

​

All services are provided directly by independent Drivers.

​

RecoBuddy acts solely as a technology platform facilitating connections and payment processing between Users and Drivers.

​

2. Eligibility

To use the Platform you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age

• Have legal capacity to enter into contracts

• Provide accurate personal information

• Use the Platform in accordance with applicable laws

• ​

You agree that all information provided during account registration is true and accurate.

RecoBuddy reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information.

3. Nature of the Platform

RecoBuddy provides a digital platform that allows Users to:

• Request vehicle recovery services

• Request vehicle transport services

• Connect with independent recovery operators

• Track service progress

• Make secure in-app payments

• ​

RecoBuddy is not responsible for the actual delivery of transport or recovery services.

Drivers operate independently and are solely responsible for the services they provide.

4. Service Requests

When a User submits a request through the Platform:

• The request is broadcast to available Drivers.

• A Driver may accept the job.

• A contract is formed directly between the User and the Driver. 

​

RecoBuddy is not a party to the transport agreement between the User and the Driver.

RecoBuddy cannot guarantee:

• Driver availability

• Exact arrival times

• Completion of services

5. Pricing

Prices displayed in the Platform are estimates based on information provided by the User.

​

Final pricing may vary depending on:

• Vehicle condition

• Accessibility

• Distance

• Additional services required

​

Users must confirm the price before booking.

All prices include the platform service fee charged by RecoBuddy.

​

6. Payments

Payments are processed securely through Stripe or other approved payment processors.

By using the Platform, you agree to:

• Authorise RecoBuddy to process payments on your behalf

• Pay the full amount displayed at the time of booking

• Provide valid payment details

RecoBuddy does not store full payment card information.

​

7. Cancellations

Users may cancel a booking before a Driver has arrived.

Cancellation fees may apply if:

• A Driver has already been dispatched

• A Driver has arrived at the pickup location

• The cancellation occurs after a specified time window

The applicable cancellation fee will be displayed in the app.

​

8. User Responsibilities

Users agree to:

• Provide accurate pickup and delivery information

• Ensure vehicles are accessible for loading

• Disclose vehicle condition (non-runner, damage etc.)

• Act respectfully toward Drivers

• Comply with all applicable laws

Users must not:

• Provide misleading booking details

• Engage in abusive behaviour

• Attempt to bypass the Platform for payments

• Use the Platform for illegal purposes

9. Vehicle Condition

Users must accurately describe the vehicle requiring transport or recovery.

Failure to disclose relevant details such as:

• Non-running condition

• Damage

• Wheel lock

• Accessibility issues

may result in:

• additional charges

• job cancellation

• refusal of service by the Driver.

10. Driver Responsibility

Drivers are independent contractors and are solely responsible for:

• Service delivery

• Vehicle handling

• Insurance coverage

• Compliance with transport regulations

​

RecoBuddy does not supervise or control Driver services.

​

11. Insurance

Drivers are responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance, including but not limited to:

• Motor insurance

• Public liability insurance

• Goods in transit insurance

​

Users acknowledge that any claims relating to vehicle damage must be addressed directly with the Driver or their insurer.

​

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RecoBuddy shall not be liable for:

• Damage to vehicles

• Delays in service

• Failure of Drivers to attend

• Loss of property

• Driver conduct

• Service disputes

RecoBuddy’s total liability shall not exceed the value of the platform service fee paid by the User.

​

13. Disputes Between Users and Drivers

Any dispute relating to:

• Service quality

• Pricing disagreements

• Vehicle damage

​

must be resolved directly between the User and the Driver.

RecoBuddy may assist in communication but does not act as an arbitrator.

​

14. Prohibited Use

Users must not:

• Use the Platform fraudulently

• Attempt to circumvent payments

• Reverse engineer the app

• Interfere with system operations

• Misuse personal data of Drivers

​

Violation may result in account termination.

​

15. Account Suspension

RecoBuddy reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts where Users:

• breach these Terms

• engage in fraudulent activity

• misuse the Platform

• create safety risks

​

16. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights relating to the Platform, including:

• trademarks

• software

• branding

• content

belong to RecoBuddy Ltd.

​

Users may not reproduce or distribute any materials without written consent.

​

17. Data Protection

RecoBuddy processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and UK GDPR.

Users consent to the collection and processing of data necessary for:

• service delivery

• payment processing

• customer support

• platform improvement

​

18. Platform Availability

RecoBuddy does not guarantee that the Platform will always be available or uninterrupted.

We may suspend services for:

• maintenance

• updates

• security issues

​

19. Amendments

RecoBuddy may update these Terms from time to time.

Users will be notified of material changes.

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

20. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

​

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
